“Original”, “OLED”, “incell”, “TFT” — every shop uses these words differently. Here is exactly what each of our six screen options is, what you'll see, and how long we cover it.

OLED vs TFT: what you'll actually notice

OLED panels light each pixel on its own, so black is truly black and the screen is thin. A TFT panel is an LCD with a backlight behind it. Put the two side by side and the TFT looks a little greyer in the dark parts of the picture, and the glass sits a touch thicker.

Day to day, plenty of people never notice. WhatsApp, banking apps, Grab and YouTube all work the same. That's why Premium TFT is the option our customers pick most often.

The “slightly smaller” note, in plain words

Our own repair system carries a warning on two options — Standard OLED and Premium TFT: on some models the display area is a little smaller than the original screen. In practice the black border around the picture is slightly thicker.

We'd rather you hear this from us before the repair than notice it afterwards. If it matters to you, ask the technician to show you a lit sample for your model at the counter.

Which one should you choose?

  • Selling or trading in the phone soon → Genuine.
  • Keeping it and want it to look like before → Original Grade, or Premium OLED on an OLED model.
  • Want OLED blacks for less, OK with a slightly thicker border on some models → Standard OLED.
  • Just want it working well at the lowest cost → Premium TFT.
  • Only the outer glass is cracked and everything under it is perfect → Glass only.

Warranty on every screen option covers manufacturing defects in touch function. Glass-only replacement covers bubbles and the glass lifting.

Tell us your model. We'll price every screen option.
